Dr. Hermann Scheer (Germany)

Dr. Hermann Scheer was a visionary in the realm of renewable energy. As a driving force behind Eurosolar, he championed the transition to sustainable energy long before it became a global imperative. His efforts earned him the prestigious Right Livelihood Award, often referred to as the "Alternative Nobel Prize," highlighting his commitment to a better, greener world.

Scheer's pivotal role in the development of the Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (Renewable Energy Sources Act) in Germany laid the groundwork for the country’s transition to renewable energy, setting a precedent for others to follow. This legislation has been instrumental in promoting the use of solar energy, wind power, and other renewable sources, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

In addition to his legislative work, Scheer was a founding member of the World Future Council, an organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights of future generations by promoting sustainable policies. His legacy is a testament to the power of visionary thinking and relentless advocacy in shaping a sustainable future.
